Master Classes

Together with Barbara's Conservatory of Dance, Ballet Midwest hosts master classes every year.  Some classes are reserved for Ballet Midwest Company and Junior Company dancers, while others are open to other dancers in the community.  Keep checking back for the most up-to-date information regarding our upcoming master classes.

Saturday, January 13, 2018: Master Class with Betsy McMillan, founder and artistic director of Vivid Ballet

Betsy McMillan currently lives in Connecticut where she recently started her own company, Vivid Ballet. Learn more about Betsy McMillan at Vivid's website: https://www.vividballet.com/company/artistic-director/
 
Class offerings include: 
Ballet for 10-13 years old (this would include Ballet Midwest Junior Company Dancers): 1:45-3:15
Pointe for 10-13 years old (this would include Ballet Midwest Junior Company Dancers): 3:15-4:45
 
Ballet for 14 years old and up (including Ballet Midwest Company Dancers): 5:00-6:30
Pointe for 14 years old and up (including Ballet Midwest Company Dancers): 6:30-8:00
 
Cost is $15.00 for one class or $25 for both classes for your age group, due upon arrival. Class size is limited, so reserve your spot by calling 272-5991. If it is outside office hours, please leave a detailed message including a phone number to reach you, dancer's name, and classes he/she wants to attend. Classes are open to dancers from any area studio.

Sunday, September 10, 2017: Master Class with Anthony Krutzcamp of Kansas City Ballet

Anythony Krutzcamp will be offering three classes at our host studio, Barbara's Conservatory of Dance. Classes are open to any area dancer.

2:00-3:30 ages 10-13, ballet technique

3:30-5:00 ages 14 and up, choreography

5:00-7:30 ages 14 and up, ballet technique


Sunday, January 29, 2017: Master Class with Ellie Goudie-Averill

Ellie Goudie-Averill teach ballet and contemporary classes on Sunday, January 29 2017 at our host studio, Barbara's Conservatory of Dance. Classes are open to any dancer in the area.

Class offerings include:  

1:00 - 2:30  Ballet for ages 10-13 
2:45 - 4:15  Contemporary for ages 10 and up 
4:30 - 6:00  Ballet for ages 14 and up 


Ballet Midwest has had the pleasure of hosting master classes with Brian Sweeney/Joffrey Ballet, Sean Duus/Kansas City Ballet, Paula Weber/Chair of Dance at UMKC Conservatory, among many others.
